First, I want to discuss with you the two most important factors in all sports whether you're in basketball or if you're jumping rope.
These 2 factors have nothing to do with your size, your talent, or your ability but they have everything to do with how you play the game. And as a matter of fact, it's the only two things we can control.
The first factor that I'll discuss is your attitude. You may have heard that "attitude is everything", well trust me it is. People hate being around others wit…

DVD’s are a major part of the college recruiting process. This is one of the major steps in evaluating high school players.
By having a DVD, college coaches want to see you play. College coaches are not coming out to high school games anymore.
It’s very rarely just for them to go to watch one player.
So, if they can look at 5 or 10 players on DVD’s in the comfort of their own office that’s a major benefit to that coach as suppose to having to travel all the way to see a high school game and t…

In the world of college recruiting, it’s not so much your stats, your height or weight, your 40 time, how many kills you get in volleyball or aces in tennis or how many hits you get in baseball. It’s about letting people know who you are or that you even exist. If you are a high school athlete who has the potential to play at the next level, you will need to get on a college recruiting program and you need to get the word out about who you are to as many college programs in your region as possib…

If you ask high school athletes, "Who’s recruiting you or where are you going to college?" and things like that, many of them will stretch the truth. Many high school athletes will say that they have committed to a particular college when it's not true or they will list or name a lot of colleges when none of those colleges have contacted them at all.
This is just part of the recruiting process. You hear about it, you read about it all the time and in most cases a lot of it is not true. We're ta…

All high school athletes want to be that’s why they work hard on their game in the first place. Most college prospects need help in the college recruiting process.
Getting your name out there is the most important thing that an athlete can do. Being scouted by college programs is the goal. Going about it is the hard part.

High school recruiting is a very difficult process. Only a select group of high school athletes will ever make it to the college level. You have to be very talented to play at the next level because at the next level, all the players on those teams are good. The talent is better.
What does it take to be a
college athlete? It takes a lot more mental and physical preparation and training to be a college athlete. The problem is many athletes in high school are losing that battle.
When it c…

I have talked about this many times before: that many families and students sometimes only focus on a few college programs. There are many reasons for this. One being that you may only know of a certain college program or know about programs that you’ve seen on T.V. and it’s only natural to just want to be contacted by these programs.
Unless you’re a major-major college recruit that everyone knows, you’re going to have to pull your attention towards 100 college programs.
Yes, that’s right;…

Think about what you are doing with your high school athletic future. Are you doing enough to get recruited by good college programs every day? Are you working on your game every day because some other high school kid is and you may get left behind if you don’t do all that you can do.
How do your grades look? Have you taken the ACT or SAT tests yet? Have you even taken the practice tests or are you just sitting on the sidelines?
College recruiting is not a joke. It’s serious business and the f…
